These all characters which are defined in te game has their own abilities and powers. Such as one the character has the power of speed and one them is an engineer who automates the machine and use them against the enemy.
Team fortress 2 gameplay is simple and straight in which all the team has the members and they have to fight against the opponent. This game is all about the teamwork and strategy implementation. If you want to knock out the enemy you have to take down some of the main characters that you think decrease your army hitpoints. So the game will give you a map and you have find your enemies and knock them out.
